The five trails of the Desert Botanical Garden are Desert Discovery trail, Plants and People of the Sonoran desert trail, Harriet K. Maxwell Desert Wildflower Trail, Sonoran Desert Nature Trail and Center for Desert Living Trail. While on a visit to the garden, you can learn about how to use plants in daily life such as twine making and pounding mosquito beans. A Desert Special House is also present in the garden to explain visitors about survival tactics in desert conditions.

Besides the exquisite collection of native plants, this botanical garden also hosts seasonal activities and meetings. The garden tours are conducted on a regular basis and is the topmost priority. There are other tours that are arranged and they are Birds in the Garden tour, Taste of the Desert Tour, Ask a gardener Tour, Desert detective tour, etc. Seasonally the garden conducts workshops and classes in which the participants are made to work with art and craft. Also, workshops on photography, gardening and desert food plants are organized. For the school student audience, special programs have been designed.

To make most of your visit in this garden, make sure you are equipped with shoes, hat, sunscreen and water. The morning weather is pretty ideal for a visit to this garden and hence you’re advised to have an early start for having a tour of this garden.
